BARCELONA, Spain – 7 October 2026 – Meta Cell Technology has held the first edition of MCT Academy – Train the Trainers in Hersonissos, Crete, bringing together experienced physicians, scientific experts and medical educators from its international network for advanced learning, scientific discussion and the exchange of clinical experience.

Held from 2 to 4 October, the programme was designed for professionals who already play an active role in physician education in their respective markets. Under the motto “Learning. Sharing. Leading.”, the meeting combined scientific foundations, clinical protocols, evidence review, guest faculty sessions and a multidisciplinary round table.

The event marks a further step in MCT’s international development. As the company continues to expand across more than 70 countries, MCT Academy is strengthening the educational and scientific infrastructure that connects physicians, trainers and distribution partners across markets.

An Interdisciplinary Approach to Regenerative Medicine

The programme convened professionals from orthopaedic surgery and traumatology, sports medicine, gynaecology, trichology, dermatology, aesthetic medicine and regenerative medicine, providing a multidisciplinary framework in which scientific evidence could be critically examined from distinct clinical perspectives and discussed in the context of current practice.

The international faculty brought together expertise spanning orthopaedics, sports medicine, dermatology, internal medicine and biomedical sciences, with contributions from Dr. Edgar Michael T. Eufemio, Dr. Madiha Azmat Rao, Dr. Luciana Macedo and Cristina Domínguez. The scientific programme also included sessions led by Dr. Hernán Pinto, Chief Scientific Officer and Co-founder of Meta Cell Technology, addressing the scientific rationale, evolving evidence base and clinical considerations relevant to the field.

The scientific agenda was developed under the supervision of the Scientific Committee, comprising Dr. Laura Cordero, Elena Sánchez Vizcaíno, Sara Cervantes and Adrià Reigosa. The Committee was responsible for defining the educational structure and scientific scope of the programme, with the aim of ensuring consistency with current evidence, clinical relevance and the continuing medical education objectives of MCT Academy.

“Medical education should not be limited to teaching a protocol. Physicians need to understand the scientific rationale, examine the evidence critically and recognise the clinical context in which a technology may be relevant. Bringing together colleagues from different specialties gives us the opportunity to challenge assumptions, compare perspectives and improve the way scientific knowledge is communicated to other physicians.”

Crete as a Meeting Point for International Scientific Exchange

The MCT Academy meeting also coincided in Crete with Suprema Experience Greece, organised by Suprema MED, MCT’s distribution partner in Brazil. The two distinct programmes created an additional point of connection between the international MCT community and a group of Brazilian physicians travelling to Greece for scientific education, professional exchange and networking.

Members of MCT’s medical team also took part in the scientific programme around Suprema Experience, extending the dialogue beyond the Train the Trainers sessions and creating further opportunities for physicians from different countries and specialties to exchange perspectives. The convergence reflected a broader ambition shared by MCT and its local partners: to create stronger links between markets and make scientific exchange an integral part of international growth.

Certification of MCT Trainers for Peer-to-Peer Scientific Education

One of the most significant moments of the programme came at the close of the scientific meeting with the Trainer Certification & Closing Remarks session. Physicians from different countries were formally recognised as MCT Trainers and received their MCT Trainer certificates, marking the culmination of the Crete programme and a new stage in the development of the company’s international trainer network.

For MCT, the certificate represents more than the end of a training programme. It identifies a community of experienced professionals who can continue the conversation in their own markets – helping other physicians understand the scientific rationale, the available evidence and the appropriate context for the technology, while remaining connected to an international network of peers.

From International Expansion to Global Medical Education

Meta Cell Technology’s international growth has increasingly been accompanied by investment in medical education, scientific communication and collaboration across markets. Through MCT Academy, the company brings together in-person educational programmes, international webinars, scientific content and evidence-led education for healthcare professionals.

Train the Trainers adds a further dimension to this approach: a dedicated international programme for physicians and professionals who contribute to medical education in their respective markets. By bringing these professionals together, MCT aims to support greater consistency in scientific education while creating opportunities for clinical experience, scientific discussion and knowledge to be shared across countries and specialties.

“International growth needs to be accompanied by investment in knowledge. As MCT expands into new markets, our responsibility is not only to make the technology available, but also to ensure that physicians and our local partners have access to high-quality scientific education. MCT Academy is becoming an important part of how we approach that growth, by connecting people, knowledge and clinical experience across countries.”
