How to choose an exosome-based product? Four areas that the aesthetic doctor must analyse before deciding which product to use in his practice

ABSTRACT

The issue of exosomes has been deliberately pushed into the arena of disqualification or invention rather than evidence. Therefore, the purpose of this article is not to offer opinions, but to review the facts. To address these issues, we will divide this brief analysis into four subsections: a) legal and regulatory compliance, b) safety, c) efficacy, and d) marketing claims. Furthermore, there are four issues that should never be lost sight of when evaluating an exosome product: i) autologous exosomes and non-autologous exosomes have nothing to do with each other, ii) products can be injectable or topical, iii) products can be legal or not, iv) products can be evidence based, or marketing based.
