ABSTRACT

Background: Exosomes are nanosized extracellular vesicles involved in intercellular communication. The composition, regulatory status, and scientific support of commercially marketed “exosome-based” products are highly variable, creating challenges for clinicians seeking safe and evidence-informed options in dermatology and aesthetic practice. Objective: The Reliability Tier Classification System (RTCS) was developed to support clinical decision-making. It was designed as a framework-based tool that categorizes exosome-based products and devices intended to enhance exosome release into four reliability tiers. Methods: The RTCS comprises two components: (A) Descriptive Product Classification, and (B) Hierarchical Categorization Algorithm.
